The 1st images on this page are of poor quality as they were taken from RTE television reports of 18th May 1983. The images show the raiding party and Nova staff at the portacabins and container located at Nova Park (formerly the Greenacres Country Club, Stocking Lane Rathfarnham), as the transmitting equipment was being removed. The RTE reporter stands in front of the new mast which was about to be erected for use with the new 50kW transmitter. The optimod and microwave rack are also shown being load onto the back of the van by P&T Officials, and one of the FM transmitters standing on the open top wagon ready to be taken away - not the best way to transport delicate communications equipment. |
A few shots of scenes outside Herbert Street as Nova was closing down at 6pm the following day, Thursday 19th May 1983. They had returned to the air with borrowed equipment. |
