| 1977_08_29_mon_solentcity_6270sw_signoff-gh.wav New Oct 2023 | Michael Jay with a sign off on Monday 29th August 1977 from a joint transmission with Britain Radio. Radio Solent City and Britain Radio were experimenting with a 1kW transmitter which Steve Joens had brought to the Solent City QTH on the Isle of Wight. Unfortunately they had a few issues, including low modulation and had to sign off early. Steve Joens from Britain Radio is also heard on the sign off. As received in Leeds on 6270kHz, with much crackling. |

This was a one off transmission from a location in Mavis Grove, North Leeds on 6285kHz. The recording starts with test music and Michael Jay signing on and making live announcements between the pre-recorded shows up until sign off at mid-day. Recorded on site in Leeds. |
