THE DX ARCHIVE HOME PAGE |

This web site is intended as an ever expanding archive of material and memories from radio dx-ers who wish to make sure that in the current mad thrust towards television and digital technology, the exciting world of searching out analogue radio stations is never forgotten. The DX archive is produced by a group of people who are mainly interested in preserving free radio material. Much of their influence originated from the success of the Irish Pirates of the 1970's & 80's. Consequently, most of the initial pages were written with this bias. But like many small projects, the original web pages have expanded to include QSL's and promotional material received from stations worldwide. As it is an archive, it has been deliberately produced in a simple form which can be re-produced directly from hard-drive or DVD without any server side requirements. Initially these pages grew into a very untidy archive of bits and pieces, and as it grew, navigation became a nightmare. This was due partly to lack of time to spend on design work. More time was spend simply throwing new material on line. In 2008, a complete face lift is now well underway. It has been a long time coming!! Hope it brings back some good memories. As of July 2020 we have now started to update the site following a three year absence. Hopefully we will be able to continue to add audio and other memorablia on a regular basis. |
