IRISH PIRATES A / Z

Capitol 98 was a short lived station promising quality adult orientated programming, a strong signal and a list of big name deejays.  The station did indeed put out a strong signal on FM only (being heard in the UK), announcing as 98MHz, but actually on 97.7MHz.  Although AM was on the promotional material (999kHz), it was never heard.  After test transmissions in June 1982, full programming was underway by late July, but the station seemed to have disappeared by the end of September 1982.

Peter Madison hosts a special show to commemorate the Marine Offences Act of August 14th 1967. At midnight he is followed by Nick Moss. Recorded in Dublin from 97.7MHz in stereo 204MB
