Radio Zodiac operated on shortwave from 1976 until around 1979.
In around late 1978 or early 1979 it merged with Radio 49 to form Radio Zodiac-49.
The station mainly promoted alternative music and was one of the few to play
punk music in the early days. Radio Zodiac began operating in the
London area on 94.4MHz FM from around 1981, at the expense of the
shortwave service. |
