MERSEYSIDE LBP HOME PAGE

Wirral FM / WFM transmitted on 90.3MHz during the mid 1980's.  The station operated initially on Sunday and a Tuesday evening, but then moved to a Tuesday / Wednesday night schedule, possibly to avoid all the other Merseyside stations operating on a Sunday. According to Anoraks UK 'Weekly Report' of 23rd December 1984, WFM were raided at 8:15pm on Tuesday evening, 18th December and lost all equipment. The station returned during 1985 and were seemingly last heard around March 1986.

The shows were apparently not running to the hour, but around 15 minutes late, so Kevin Palmer came on around 10:15pm. Steve Davies mentioned broadcasting with 2.5 watts.
