Liverpool Pirate Radio, also referred
to on-air as LPR was operated by
the late Phil Davis and was first logged during 1981 on a frequency around 1239kHz.
The strongest signal was in May 1987 just before a raid on the
station. At this time LPR was operating on 1404kHz. |

1987_05_10_sun_lpr_1404am_0920-1007_jerryking_phildavis-ghe616.mp3 New Sep 2023 | A rather crackly recording from Sunday morning 10th May 1987 with a show from Jerry King followed at 10am by the start of Phil Davis. The microphone was a little low at first on Jerry King. Phil says they are broadcasting from a brand new location for one week only, and mentions Rice Lane flyover. The location of this recording from 1404kHz is not known, but at around 10am a lot of splattering starts from an adjacent station. Not sure which station the splatter was coming from, but it could have been Radio Merseyland on 1395kHz who signed on at 10am. |

1987_05_10_sun_lpr_1404am_1007-1105_phildavis-ghe616.mp3 New Sep 2023 | Phil Davis continues from the above recording until around 1105, including a new 'nursery rhyme' show. This is slightly airchecked and suffers from a lot of splattering from an adjacent station, and was recorded at the same location as above. The station was apparently raided by the DTI later in the afternoon and lost all equipment. |
