KISS FM was heard during 1985 and at times put out a strong signal on 102.85MHz which could be heard across North West England.  Operating times were normally on a Sunday between 12pm and 6pm, but occasionally 8pm. On 16th June during a live announcement after the broadcast, they announced as running 70 watts in stereo. They appeared to close temporarily in early September 1985 following raids on other stations, and it is not known if they ever returned to the air in this form.

A station calling itself KISS FM was heard testing on 20th April 1986 on 102.7MHz and using the same 150 Rake Lane, Wallasey address as the KISS heard during 1985.  They appeared with full programming on Sunday 27th April, but were raided that same afternoon. It is not known if this was the same station as 1985, as the deejay names (John Mitchell and Paul Thompson) were different to the previous year (Alan Ross, Colin Sayer, Tony Hayes, Mark Wright). The cutting below from September 1986 reports on a resulting court case.

A report on the court case in September 1986 from probably The Wirral News.
The case was presumably brought about from the raid on 27th April 1986.
