1986_09_20_sat_anfield_community_radio_1431am_1158-1245_markevans-ghe518.mp3 New Sep 2023 | Unfortunately all the recordings we have in our archive are only 'anorak quality' as they were recorded at distance from the transmission location. This one is a Saturday test transmission from 1431kHz and judging by the varying whistles, which we have tried to reduce, the transmitter was a vfo, although a crystal is mentioned. The recording features Mark Evans signing the station on at mid-day. Jim Brown then follows after wandering the streets of Anfield with a radio testing the signal. Recorded near Blackpool from around 1431kHz which suffers a lot of noise from local HV power lines. |
