ABC-FM was operated by Tom Lodge, and was heard in early 1984 on 96.25MHz in stereo. It appears to have commenced broadcasting following the closure of North Coast Commercial Radio on 199m. Starting operating at the weekend, they eventually settled into mid-week operations on late Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Presenters were initially Tom Lodge, Eric Monaghan and Kevin Palmer, but Phil James, Keith, Mike and Benny James were heard during later broadcasts. Tim Jackson's Merseyside Report of 29th January 1984 gave the following report of the tests. The station seemed to have disappeared by June 1984.
