Radio Telstar South broadcast to London during the 1970's on 92.8MHz, normally for just one hour per week between 7pm and 8pm on a Sunday evening.  Despite the brief broadcast times, the station was extremely popular in the days when the only legal alternatives were BBC Radio 1 and Capital Radio.   The format was golden oldies, something that was to be copied two decades later by todays so called 'gold' stations

Here are two airchecks  from Sunday 19th March 1978.  The first features the Radio Telstar South sign on at 7pm, followed by  the Kid Johnson show.  (File size = 370k)
The second is the sign-off, again with Kid Johnson, following a Motown special from Horace Cracksman(?). (File Size = 270k)
