London Weekend Radio / LWR - 92.5MHz
London Weekend Radio commenced transmission in early 1983, playing a variety of music. As with many stations in 1983, they starting using a loophole in the law to operate full time and also began promoting mainly black music. The station also later changed name to London Wide Radio, still announced as LWR, and continued until December 1988 when along with several other stations in London, they went off the air to apply for a license. Having been unsuccessful in obtaining a license, LWR returned to air briefly in 1989 and 1990. |
