WORLD RADIO MAGAZINE and BBC HANDBOOK (1920s and 1930s)
========================================================

The first edition of the BBC Yearbook was issued in 1928, and the back pages featured details of a number of 'foreign' broadcasters. In subsequenct years, this feature was removed.  The weekly BBC magazine 'World Radio', contained articles, programme details and frequencies of broadcasters from around the world, as compared with The Radio Times which only printed schedules for UK based BBC stations.

An entry for the two Irish transmitters from the 1928 BBC Handbook.
At the time, Dublin was on 940kHz and Cork on 750kHz, both with 1.5kW of power.

RADIO PICTORIAL (1930s)
========================================================

IRISH PIRATES A / Z

Radio Pictorial was a magazine which competed against 'The Radio Times' and 'World Radio' in the 1930s. It differed from those two as in addition to producing listings for the English language European radio stations, it also had articles about programmes and radio stars of the day. Below are some extracts related to the late night IBC programming from Athlone on 565kHz / 531m. Radio Pictorial was produced weekly between 19th January 1934 and 8th September 1939. The final issue was number 295, as following the outbreak of war in Europe, the IBC and commercial radio stations in Europe closed.
