Storeton Community Radio began life on 1296kHz / 232m sometime during 1982, but were heard not only in the Merseyside area, but throughout Europe on 2592kHz. They even qualified a feature on Radio Netherland's Media Network because of their strong 2nd harmonic, and announced or at least spoke of the harmonic on the air!!! Storeton were famous for operating very long hours in their early days, including seven days per week for lengthy periods. In early 1984 the station later moved to 1026kHz / 292m, and briefly 1035kHz, continuing to broadcast over a large area of the North West and North Wales. They were last reported heard during late 1989. |
