North Coast Commerical Radio was a project by Tom Lodge of Station M, in an attempt to operate a 7 day per week station. The station had been talked about for a while, and finally commenced with tests in November 1983 on 1512kHz / 199m. Due to stations in Ireland also on this frequency, there was a whistle on the channel which made listening difficult at times outside the Merseyside area.  In the evening there was also a higher powered Belgian station. By mid January 1984 the station had closed and Tom Lodge went on to operate ABC-FM on 96.25MHz.
