According to the very first Tim Jackson 'Merseyside Report' this incarnation of Merseyland Alternative Radio were heard testing in June 1983 in the 266m region of the band and began official broadcasts on 2nd July 1983. John Dwyer from the original MAR, along with Steve Bishop and others were involved in this new version of the station. There were apparently some internal disputes in the first few weeks, but in subsequent weeks the station continued to broadcast on around 1143kHz. They were reported as having been raided on 14th August around mid-day. The station was next heard in early September 1983, on the new channel of 1242kHz, but disappeared again during October. They were last reported on 20th November and we have a recording from 26th November 1983 which could have been their final broadcast.
