KISS FM initially used 1008kHz for its 5kW medium wave service. This was strong in its primary service area of Ulster and the border areas, and even in Western Scotland, but was difficult to hear in NorthWest England due to Red Rose Radio on 999kHz. It was however clearly audible most nights in London, once Hilversum 1 had signed off on the same channel. The QSL Letter below was received in answer to a reception report from a listener in Essex.
