Channel
D TV operated in Dublin City during mid 1981. The broadcasts were made
from the former State Cinema in Phipsborough. The station operated late
at night and broadcast mainly old films although they did have plans for
their own programming, including the first breakfast TV show.. Unfortunately we have no video footage or still photographs of any of the broadcasts. The only publicity or memorabilia we have in our collection is a lengthy article from the 7th-20th August 1981 issue of 'In Dublin' magazine. This tells the story of the TV venture up until that point. This can be viewed by clicking the thumbnails below. It is not known when the final transmission from Channel D TV took place. |
