Southside 95 FM was a late starter in the free radio scene of County Dublin, commencing broadcasts in December 1987. It had a number of well known presenters, and operated from Dun Laoghaire on 94.9MHz in stereo with a strong signal. As far as we know, it never operated on medium wave. Southside 95 FM operated with its own programmes until the Summer of 1988, but by August was heard relaying the Radio Nova Satellite service based in Camberley, Surrey. This relay on 94.9MHz was reported to have disappeared by late October 1988 with the frequency going silent.
