Radio Nova Southside was heard in the latter part of 1983. A station list for November 1983 had it listed as 684kHz and 96.3MHz FM. By the time of the only recording in our collection below on 19th December 1983, it was still on 684kHz but announcing 98MHz. At some point it was also logged on 792kHz. Nothing much is known about the station which may have been based in Shankill, Co Dublin. The location could be a clue that it might have had some link from the former Sonic Independent Radio. The signal on 684kHz was fairly good, but due it being adjacent to the strong signals from BBC Radio 2 on 693kHz, suffered from splatter outside of its main service area.
