K.L.A.S.
98 or CLASS 98.5, the latter being the name of the station after a relaunch,
was a Dublin FM only station. The signal made it to the UK on the relatively
clear FM channels of the day. The station commenced broadcasts in
November 1986 from studios in Sutton Park, and was initially operated by Hugh Hardy
who also operated
the early Dundalk station, Radio Carousel. Around March 1988, the
station was re-launched as Class Radio and continued successfully
until 1988 legislation became law, at which point most stations closed down. |
